If you're not seeing the Facebook buttons on Safari, then you may have Adblock on. Adblock sometimes block Facebook buttons by mistake. If that's the case, just disable Adblock temporarily to see the demos.

Facebook Like Button + Send Button (As Above)

You’d probably have noticed the Facebook Like buttons popping up all over web sites. The Like button is a tool to help your web pages go viral in popularity. Users can click on the button, enter a comment and have it posted back to their Facebook profiles.

What this means is free promotion for your web pages.

While the Like Button lets your users share content with all their friends, the Send Button is more targeted.

It lets your users send a private message containing your URL to their Facebook friends, as an email to any email address, or to the group wall of one of their Facebook groups.

Facebook Comments

This stack allows you to add the Facebook Comments Box plugin so your users can comment on anything on your site, be it a web page, photo or an article. Once that is done, the comment can then be shared by the user on his/her Facebook wall as well as in their friends’ Facebook streams, helping to draw traffic.

Facebook Page Plugin

If you have a Facebook Page, the Facebook Page Plugin lets your place a box on your own website where your users can:

Note

  • These plugins will not show up in Preview mode in Rapidweaver. To see them, you need to export or publish the page.
  • Rapidweaver 5 or 6.
  • Stacks 2 & 3.

Important Step

Always make sure that you have dragged the Facebook Plugins Init stack onto the page before any other Facebook Plugins stack. You only need to have the Facebook Plugins Init stack on the each page once.

In order to use any of the Facebook Plugins stack, please ensure that you have included the Facebook Plugins Init stack once on your Stacks page first. Facebook Plugins Init needs to be on each page only once no matter how many other Facebook Plugins there are on the same page.

I get a “Page not found” error when I enter a valid profile URL

There are a few things you can check when this happens:

  1. Is the profile URL you are using actually a personal profile and not a Facebook Page? Pages should instead use the Like button
  2. Does the person whose profile you are using with the Follow button have following enabled? You can check this by having the person check their Follower Settings and enable them.
  3. Use the alternate profile URL with that person’s User ID instead of their username. For example http://www.facebook.com/4 instead of http://www.facebook.com/zuck.
